April brought several key appointments of healthcare experts within the fields of research, law, insurance and risk management.
Law firm Wilson Kehoe Winingham hired Lauren Anno as a second on-staff legal nurse consultant to assist with the firm’s focus on severe, permanent injury cases.

Anno has been a legal nurse consultant for 18 years. She works as a liaison between the legal and medical communities, brings health science education and clinical expertise to healthcare-related issues in the litigation process, and analyzes and evaluates medical/ legal issues in medical malpractice cases.
Prior to her present position, Anno worked as a legal nurse consultant at Hall Render Killian Heath & Lyman and at Ice Miller. She was a clinical staff nurse at St. Vincent Hospital and Healthcare Center in Indianapolis, Indiana, at Wishard Hospital, and at The Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne. She served as a patient care coordinator at Naab Road Surgical Group and worked as a risk management consultant at the Clarian Health Risk Retention Group. Some of Anno’s clinical nursing experience includes working in medical-surgical areas including general surgical, orthopedics and gynecologic oncology and in a high-risk antenatal unit.
Anno is a past secretary of the Indianapolis Chapter of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants. She is also a past treasurer of the Indiana Society for Healthcare Risk Management and has spoken on numerous occasions at various hospitals, clinics, and physician’s offices across Indiana about the principles of risk management within their personal organizations. She is a member of the Indiana State Nurses Association.
In the field of policy and research, The Navigant Center for Healthcare Research and Policy Analysis appointed Paul Keckley as managing director.
With nearly 40 years of experience, Keckley brings extensive healthcare industry analysis and policy expertise to Navigant’s healthcare leadership team. He previously served as the executive director for Deloitte’s Center for Health Solutions where he led a team of analysts and authored the recurring Monday Memo on Health Reform that was circulated among more than 20,000 US healthcare organizations.

Keckley will lead the Navigant Center for Healthcare Research and Policy Analysis. The Center will focus on trends and issues relevant to each of the industry’s major sectors.

A key insurance appointment took place when MedPro Group, Berkshire Hathaway’s dedicated healthcare malpractice insurance business, appointed Jean-Paul Rebillard as president of its Health System & Hospital (HSH) division. Rebillard joins from Marsh, where he was most recently senior vice president in Marsh’s healthcare practice.
Reporting to MedPro president & CEO Tim Kenesey, Rebillard will lead a $70 million division offering healthcare malpractice insurance and risk management solutions to healthcare systems, hospitals and self-insured entities throughout the Americas.

With nearly all of MedPro’s HSH business produced through agents and brokers, Rebillard will partner with agents and brokers to deliver solutions and expertise.

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) also made the news when it appointed Stephen Dunn as vice president, Healthcare Professional Liability. He joins from CAN and will be based in New York.
Dunn joins BHSI with more than two decades in the healthcare insurance industry. Most recently he served as assistant vice president and hospital industry leader at CNA where he focused on allied facilities, physician groups and hospitals.
Prior to this, he held various healthcare underwriting positions at Zurich, AIG and Medical Liability Mutual Insurance Company. He was also a healthcare broker at Willis, where he advised hospital and allied customers.
