Anthem has said that it has hired Hongmai (Mai) Pham as vice president, Provider Alignment Solutions.
In this role, Dr. Pham will be responsible for Anthem’s value-based payment collaborations with doctors and hospitals to expand access to high quality, affordable healthcare.
Dr. Pham is a founding official at the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), where she recently served as chief innovation officer and was responsible for implementation of the alternative payment model provisions of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act and other multi-organizational initiatives.
As vice president of Provider Alignment Solutions, Dr. Pham will be responsible for developing and refining Anthem’s provider payment models that reduce the cost of care while rewarding improvements in quality and access. She will also establish a team to develop new products and networks built on a foundation of value-based care, and oversee Anthem’s Enhanced Personal Health Care initiative, a program that focuses on patient-centered care.
“Dr. Pham is widely recognized as an expert in Accountable Care Organizations and was the architect of several transformational value-based care programs while at CMMI. Her expertise and passion for collaborating with doctors to lower costs while improving the quality of healthcare makes her the perfect fit for this position,” said Colin Drozdowski, Anthem’s senior vice president of Provider Solutions. “We look forward to Dr. Pham’s contributions as Anthem continues to enhance our industry-leading provider solutions efforts.”
