Athenahealth, a provider of cloud-based services and mobile tools for medical groups and health systems, has added two new portfolio companies to its More Disruption Please (MDP) Accelerator.
Joining the Boston lineup is CredSimple, a medical credentialing solution for hospitals and health insurers that automates the verification of providers' qualifications and RubiconMD, a medical referral company that connects primary care physicians with specialist expertise at the point of care via remote consults.
Both startups will receive seed funding, free office space, mentorship, and access to athenahealth's network of providers.
The MDP Accelerator's first portfolio company, Smart Scheduling, a developer of predictive scheduling analytics, joins the roster of HIT and workflow efficiency solutions on the athenahealth marketplace accessible to more than 59,000 providers in athenahealth's national cloud network.
Chris Moses, chief executive officer of Smart Scheduling, said: "Breaking into the health care market is tough, but MDP's Accelerator has fast-tracked our time to market by facilitating inbound lead generation and simplifying the task of network integration through the athenahealth API. This has helped us win multiple high-profile clients in record time."
MDP has also partnered with Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST) which will provide marketplace partners with data security risk assessments that will be subsidized by athenahealth.
