Commercial insurer Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE) has signed a three-year contract extension with NantHealth, a personalized healthcare company, for its NaviNet Open Document Exchange solution.

The company first partnered with NantHealth in 2010.

"As adoption of value-based care programs continues to grow among payers and providers, there is a critical need to establish more collaborative partnerships,” said Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, founder and CEO of NantHealth.

"As a result, we must find ways to enrich the collaboration between payers and providers. This is where technology will step up to play a big part in that role. We’re looking forward to our continued partnership with BCBSNE and are excited to onboard them with the NaviNet Open Document Exchange solution."

Blue Cross has added NaviNet solution to its existing NantHealth solution line.

The NaviNet solution enables a HIPAA-safe exchange of clinical information among multiple medical management, informatics, and care delivery teams to empower health plans to better communicate and engage with their provider networks in real-time.
