Medical professional liability insurer Coverys has joined The National Patient Safety Foundation’s (NPSF) patient safety coalition.

The coalition was created to align diverse stakeholders from across the continuum of care in a unifying mission of making health care safer for patients and the workforce.

"At Coverys, we stress the importance of clinical risk management and place a high degree of emphasis on our work with policyholders to identify and manage risk to reduce medical errors," said Gregg Hanson, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Coverys. "Joining the NPSF patient safety coalition reflects our commitment to finding solutions that can help make health care safer."

Tejal Gandhi, MD, MPH, CPPS, president and CEO of NPSF, said: "Like other members of the NPSF patient safety coalition, Coverys shares the NPSF goal of seeking solutions to prevent harm to patients. We are very pleased to welcome their membership and we look forward to working with them to share knowledge and promote advances in the field."
