Elsevier, a provider of medical information products and services, has formed an agreement to resell HCPro's HIPAA and corporate compliance content to US hospitals and health systems.

The new content libraries are available as part of Elsevier's ICD and CDI eLearning solutions.

HCPro's corporate compliance and HIPAA libraries are designed for healthcare organizations (HCOs) - hospitals, health systems and medical groups - eager to achieve compliance with federal regulations such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), False Claims Act, Fraud Enforcement and Recovery Act of 2009 (FERA), Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act.

Each of the libraries contains seven full-length courses and seven refresher courses all tailored to the needs of various healthcare professionals.

"Hospitals and health systems can't escape the impact of regulations like HIPAA. By offering our compliance libraries, Elsevier helps providers comply with a law that can be long, complicated and difficult to manage," said Deborah Neville, director of revenue cycle, coding and compliance at Elsevier. "As a complement to Elsevier's performance manager, providers and trainers can create plans that address gaps in compliance knowledge so they can ensure orientation, training and development enterprise-wide."

HCPro’s corporate compliance library provides individual courses for nurses, clinicians, physicians, coders, billers and executives, as well as staff in health information management, registration and front desk and nutrition, environmental and volunteer services. Also provided are compliance refresher courses specific to job roles.

HCPro HIPAA library complements HCPro corporate compliance library by offering HIPAA information categorized by job role or function, including executive, administrative and corporate staff, business associates, nutrition, environmental services, and volunteer staff, coders, billers and health information management staff, physicians, nurses and clinical staff and registration and front office staff.
