Equity Risk Partners, a full-service insurance brokerage, employee benefits and risk management consulting firm, has launched Healthcare Risk, a new dedicated practice committed to helping private equity firms, their portfolio companies and traditional healthcare related operations enhance returns through competitive and cost-effective risk management and employee benefit programs.
Equity Risk Partners’ healthcare risk solutions are customized for each client. Examples of services offered include specialized healthcare due diligence; dedicated risk management products and services; proprietary insurance brokerage access to specialty insurers; and a claims advocacy group with dedicated healthcare experience.
“We are seeing an unprecedented level of rapid transformation in the healthcare vertical largely due to the recent changes in legislation and healthcare reform,” said Michael Marcon, CEO, Equity Risk Partners.
“We created Healthcare Risk to help private equity firms meet the opportunities created by this evolution. The group provides an unequaled understanding of the impact risk can have on private equity firms, their portfolio companies and traditional healthcare related businesses.”
Healthcare Risk is led by senior vice president Scott Pachtman. He is a seasoned insurance industry professional with nearly 20 years of experience in the insurance industry; six with Equity Risk Partners. Prior to joining Equity Risk Partners, he was a vice president at ABD Insurance & Financial Services (a Wells Fargo Company). Pachtman holds an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation.
“Equity Risk Partners’ dedicated team of experienced healthcare industry professionals come from diverse backgrounds. Our combined experience contributes to an acute understanding of healthcare businesses and trends that is unparalleled and enables us to better serve our clients,” said Pachtman. “The healthcare risk team is a group of established professionals with a strong track record of providing unmatched value to businesses in the healthcare industry.”
