The US Department of Health and Human Services has appointed Adam Boehler as new director and deputy administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation (CMMI).
Boehler replaces CMMI director Patrick Conway, who announced in August that he was leaving to join Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina as its new president and CEO.
Boehler is the former CEO and founder of home healthcare company Landmark Health.
Boehler is also the founder of laboratory benefit management services provider Avalon Health Solutions. He was a board member and founder of TrellisRx, a built-for-purpose company that partners with health systems to fund, build, and operate specialty pharmacies. In addition, he was an operating partner at Francisco Partners, a global private equity firm focused on healthcare technology and services investing.
