Health Partners Plans, a provider of Medicaid, Medicare and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) plans, has hired a health care veteran Eric Huss as executive vice president of finance and administration.

In the new position, Huss will be responsible for key health plan operational areas, including claims, enrollment and member services, in addition to managing the overall financial and administration operations across all lines of business.

He will report to president and chief executive officer William George.

Huss has years of experience in leading complex health care organizations and driving business growth. He most recently served as chief financial officer for Clarus Healthcare.

He previously served in various financial leadership positions at UPMC Health System, and also as senior vice president and chief financial officer for Gateway Health.

"Eric’s proven track record of promoting efficiency, growth and positive financial outcomes in managed care organizations while putting members first makes him a perfect fit for our leadership team,"

George said. "His expertise will be instrumental as HPP continues on its growth trajectory in new markets."

Huss added: "It’s an honor to join an award-winning health plan like HPP, particularly during this exciting time in the company’s history. I look forward to helping to accelerate HPP’s momentum as it expands to offer its nationally renowned care to even more Pennsylvanians."
