Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach, CA, has received the 2016 Women’s Choice Award as one of America’s best hospitals for patient safety, heart care, and obstetrics.

This is the third consecutive year (2014 - 2016) that Hoag has received these awards in heart care and obstetrics, and the second consecutive year (2015 - 2016) for patient safety.

This evidence-based designation is the only award that identifies the country’s best health care institutions based on robust criteria that consider female patient satisfaction, clinical excellence, and what women say they want from a hospital.

“Hoag is proud to continue to be recognized as one of America’s best hospitals for patient safety, heart care and obstetrics by Women’s Choice Awards,” said Robert Braithwaite, president and CEO of Hoag.

“These awards validate our vision and are a badge of honor for our physicians, nurses and staff who have been dedicated to providing a combination of world-class innovation and community-based compassion to the communities we serve.”

Dr Allyson Brooks, chief quality officer and the Ginny Ueberroth executive medical director endowed chair of the Women’s Health Institute at Hoag, added: “It is always an honor to receive such a prestigious award.

“But in this particular case, what’s even more rewarding is the fact that the recognition is based in part on feedback from our female patients. Caring for them, and touching their lives in meaningful ways, is a profound privilege and an incredible source of pride for all of us at Hoag.”
