Humana has expanded its partnership with Boston-based primary care provider Iora Health to provide Humana Medicare Advantage beneficiaries access to improved care in Arizona, Georgia and Washington.
The company said under the new agreement, ten new Iora practices will provide Medicare Advantage plan members a better patient experience with a goal to improve health outcomes and lower overall health care costs.
This year, new practices are opening in Tacoma, Washington; Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona; and, for the first time in Atlanta, Georgia.
“We know that when you invest in relationships and support patients beyond the traditional expectations of primary care, people stay healthier and lead happier lives," said said Duncan Reece, EVP, Market Operations at Iora Health. "All of our patients get a full care team that respects and listens to them and addresses both their health needs and the social determinants of health that impact their care. The investments pay off; Iora patients in one study saw a 50 percent decrease in hospitalizations and a 20 percent decrease in ER visits. We are thrilled to expand our relationship with Humana to be able to care for even more older adults in Arizona, Georgia and Washington.”
