08-10-2015

Insurance brokerage and risk management firm Integro has acquired HealthCare Risk Specialists, based in West Hartford, Connecticut.

It said that the acquisition represented a significant enhancement of its physician-focused professional liability capabilities.

HealthCare Risk Specialists, incorporated in 1998, provides custom designed as well as traditional professional liability insurance solutions to physicians and physician groups across the US.

Founder David Rossi will remain with the firm in a consulting capacity and Matthew LeBlanc, principal, will assume leadership of the business unit.

HealthCare Risk Specialists brokers and colleagues, including Peter Behnke and Cory Shane, will join Integro and remain in their West Hartford office, which becomes Integro’s first in Connecticut.

“Professional liability coverage is one of the most crucial and complex lines of insurance that healthcare providers purchase, and HealthCare Risk Specialists knows this space exceedingly well,” said Ruth Kilduff, Integro’s healthcare practice leader.

“Healthcare Risk Specialists will create a medical malpractice platform within Integro’s existing healthcare practice with an expertise in placement at the individual practitioner and mid-size professional group level. We expect Matt and his team will play a significant role in Integro becoming an industry leader.”

Regarding the decision to align with Integro, LeBlanc said: “In addition to new relationships with carriers and clients, flying the Integro banner means HealthCare Risk Specialists is now positioned to offer a greater array of healthcare products, as well as employee benefits, cyber privacy, network security, and private client services to the benefit of our current and prospective clients.”
