The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) has presented Lori Severson, a loss control consultant in Lockton's Denver office, with the Safety Professional of the Year award for the Risk Management/Insurance practice specialty.
The award recognizes members who have advanced the occupational safety, health, and environmental profession through exemplary volunteer service to the Society and to their specialty.
"Lori's numerous contributions to our technical publications with timely articles on healthcare and related topics have been invaluable," said Francis Sehn, assistant administrator for the ASSE Risk
Management/Insurance specialty practice group. "She is a true professional that represents ASSE and the Risk Management/Insurance practice specialty in an outstanding fashion. She is most deserving of this prestigious award."
Severson is a loss control consultant in Lockton's Denver office. She has 23 years of safety experience, working in numerous industries and has held a variety of environmental health and safety-related positions. The past decade of Severson's career has been dedicated to healthcare safety and loss control for all sectors of care. She provides expert consultation for Lockton healthcare clients across the country and is an expert on safe patient handling and movement.
Severson received her bachelor's degree in Spanish from the University of St. Thomas and her master's degree in safety from the University of Wisconsin Stout. She is a certified Healthcare Environmental Manager (HEM) and Associate Safety Professional (ASP).
