Lori Koethe has been named Magruder Hospital’s vice president of nursing.
Prior to Magruder, Koethe was the interim market chief clinical officer at Kindred Hospitals of Cleveland. She was responsible for operational, fiscal, and strategic responsibilities for all clinical operations in two Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) facilities. Before Kindred, she was the director of risk management and patient safety and compliance officer for University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center, where she was responsible for regulatory and quality areas, coordinating and managing Joint Commission surveys and maintaining clinical facility and operations standards.
Koethe is a certified professional healthcare risk manager and has served on the professional organization’s state board. She is a trained educator and presenter on the topics of just culture, disclosure of adverse events, leadership ethics and patient family centered care. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, American Society of Healthcare Risk Managers, Ohio Society of Healthcare Risk Managers, and the Healthcare Compliance Association.
She earned her Diploma in Nursing from MB Johnson School of Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Jacksonville University School of Nursing and earned her Master of Science in Health Law from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center.
