OneBeacon Healthcare Group, a member of OneBeacon Insurance Group, has launched its new federally qualified community health clinics and providers policy, which provides additional protection for potential gaps in the coverage afforded to community health centers and providers under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA).
The product is exclusively available through its managing general underwriter Sobel Affiliates, a Brown & Brown company. Product features include claims made or occurrence professional liability coverage; a broad definition of covered contracts and of professional services including activities while acting as a navigator, certified application counselor or in-person assister in the health insurance marketplace; privacy breach event coverage; and an enhanced coverage structure for certain employed medical practitioners.
OneBeacon Healthcare’s senior vice president Brenda Craig said: "Community health centers are becoming more important in the delivery of healthcare and we are pleased to offer a product that addresses their expanded roles.
“While qualified heath centers are afforded protection under the FTCA, there are known gaps and emerging exposures. OneBeacon 2 underwriters, in partnership with Sobel Affiliates’ medical professional team, offer this coverage solution to address the significant risks that challenge this customer group.”
Alan Labadorf, Sobel Affiliates’ managing director, added: "We have a proven history of success working with community health clinics and a long-standing partnership with OneBeacon Healthcare Group. We believe their expertise and understanding of emerging trends in this market provide an opportunity to address the unique risks faced by community health centers.”
The policy will be written on a non-admitted basis, except in the District of Columbia, New York, Virginia and Oregon.
