Online Business Systems, a North American business and technology consulting company, has been designated by the Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST) as a Common Security Framework (CSF) Assessor.
HITRUST is committed to providing the healthcare industry with a risk management framework and compliance roadmap for organizations to achieve independent certification. Online is among the select group of service providers authorized to provide health information security assessments using the CSF.
The CSF is a certifiable information security framework that harmonizes the requirements of existing standards and regulations, including federal (HIPAA, HITECH), third party (PCI, COBIT) and government (NIST, FTC). As a CSF Assessor, Online is able to provide healthcare organizations with the structure, detail, and clarity required to develop an actionable security roadmap.
"The HITRUST CSF Assessor designation adds another industry recognized credential to Online's Security Consulting practice," said David Neufeld, vice-president at Online. "Our team of experienced security consultants has successfully delivered hundreds of security compliance and risk assessments within other industry verticals. We look forward to providing our customers in healthcare the opportunity to assess their security posture against a recognized industry approach."
Steve Levinson, Online's security consulting director, added: "As a CSF assessor, Online is able to work with healthcare organizations seeking to assess security risk and/or meet compliance goals. Our goal is to help our customers protect patient and consumer data in the most effective and efficient manner possible.
“We take a collaborative approach to risk assessments by working closely with our clients to first gain a strong understanding of their business, information architecture, infrastructure, and systems that support the business. This approach provides a foundation from which to base risk and outcome based recommendations that align with our customer's business and technology considerations."
