SCAHRM appoints president

The Southern California Association for Healthcare Risk Management (SCAHRM) has appointed Lee McMullin as its president. 

McMullin currently serves as senior risk management and patient safety specialist at the Cooperative of American Physicians (CAP). He succeeds Lisa Ramthun, the departing 2014 president.

Ramthun said: “Lee is a true champion of patient safety and risk management and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience to grow our aAssociation. I am confident that our members and the association will benefit from Lee’s leadership and expertise.”

Sarah Pacini, chief executive officer of CAP, added: “We are proud to have a member of the CAP family elected to such a prestigious association as SCAHRM. I know that Lee will serve SCAHRM well, as he brings his vast risk management knowledge to help protect patients and support Southern California’s physicians, hospitals, and medical groups.

McMullin said: “I am honored to be the president of such an important Association. I have been a member of SCAHRM for over 20 years, have held several other positions within the organization, and I look forward to working with my team to provide our members with relevant continuing education programs that are directly applicable to their daily roles of improving patient safety and managing risk.”
