UL EHS Sustainability, a provider of workplace health, safety, and sustainability solutions, has released a course suite intended to identify and manage factors that can increase awareness about incidents and accidents before they happen.

The course suite, “Why Incident Management Matters” (WIMM) provides a solid foundation for incident management to help keep workers safe, healthy, and on the job.

The suite is designed for safety team members, managers, supervisors, and front-line workers, and stresses the importance of early reporting, identifying and investigating underlying factors that drive behavior, coaching to teach and reinforce desired behavior, and continuous improvement.

According to UL EHS Sustainability, courses in the WIMM suite provide a progressive and proactive approach to the full lifecycle management of observations, near misses and incidents with loss.

“We have learned that companies interested in preventing serious losses commonly engage the workforce for assistance in spotting small safety problems before large losses happen,” said Mark Ward, general manager and vice president of UL EHS Sustainability.

“This is what our WIMM course suite is all about. WIMM is a force multiplier that enables the health and safety professional to empower employees through continuous improvement and risk reduction efforts.”
