Healthplans.com, a health, Medicare, and life insurance customer acquisition marketplace, has been acquired by US-based MediaAlpha, a White Mountains company.
The acquisition will expand MediaAlpha's footprint in the health insurance and life insurance verticals and increase the company's scale and profitability.
"We are pleased to support MediaAlpha in its acquisition," commented Chris Delehanty, managing director of White Mountains. "The deal supplements MediaAlpha's strong organic growth and further establishes MediaAlpha as the leader in its marketplace. Steve, Eugene and team have been terrific partners, and we look forward to continuing to support their growth initiatives."
Patrick Quigley, CEO of Katch, commented: "When the Affordable Care Act was passed in 2010, we set a mission to be the leading destination for individuals to research health insurance plans and make great decisions. Since the launch of Healthplans.com, we helped 35 million people connect with carriers and brokers to find plans for their families. We are incredibly proud of what our team has built and the value it has delivered for consumers and our broker and carrier partners."
White Mountains acquired a majority interest in MediaAlpha in 2014.
